Lantern-YA

Our Story

Lantern-YA is a lantern shop located in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. It is a very historic craft shop that has been in business since 1955.
The lanterns are made using Mino Washi, a type of Japanese paper that is designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Lanterns have a long history of being used in Japanese ceremonies and festivals, and Lantern-YA is a traditional lantern shop that has been manufacturing lanterns by hand since its founding. For this reason, all of Lantern-YA’s products are made with Mino Washi.

Lantern-YA’s lanterns are currently on display in hotels and museums in Mino City.
